Rabhasa lost to Alludu Sreenu
Publicity is the key factor for success of any film in the present generation. The electronic media ,internet and social media have dumped the rules of publicity on audience heads. No longer are press releases designed for a select group of journalists.
The stardom, star power, star stamina and star image have become secondary factors for audience to step into theaters . Wonderful subjects, Big star cast have failed to reach out to audiences due to lack of publicity and Average film, New Hero with good publicity have made wonders at BO in recent times.
When we compare films like ‘Alludu Sreenu’ starring debutant hero Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas , produced by Bellamkonda suresh and NTR’s Rabhasa , which was also produced by Bellamkonda suresh. Both films are Mass entertainer, Both are produced under same banner, But When we compare collections ‘Alludu Sreenu’ got very good opening with average content and continued to maintain the tempo at BO whereas ‘Rabhasa’ also opened big at BO with average content , but failed to maintain steady collections.
On the fourth day (monday) , If the collections of Krishna district is considered ‘Alludu Sreenu’ fetched 10.14 Cr share , whereas Rabhasa has reported a share of just 7.40 Crore. NTR being a big star with huge fan following could not pull the audience to the theaters with his stamina or image. What went wrong ?, Why Rabhasa could not match Allu Sreenu?.
Simple answer is Publicity, Producer Bellamkonda suresh spent around 8 crore on ‘Alludu Sreenu’ publicity whereas for ‘Rabhasa’ , Bellamkonda was handsup. With no proper publicity and amateur direction, made the film to lose revenues at BO.
