In the race for box office collections supremacy in Tollywood, looks like the mega heroes are racing ahead of their counterparts. The 4 day collections of the recent release, “Gabbar Singh” netted around 19+ crores for AP state , which is a new benchmark.
Putting aside the AP collections, “Gabbar Singh” turned out to be a money spinner even in other parts of India, raking 1.77 crores. To top it all, Gabbar Singh’s overseas collections were around Rs. 6.28 cr for the first three days. Director of the film Harish Shankar is being showered with praises for the way he has handled the scriptand etched Pawan’s character. Mega fans, at major cinema halls in AP, were seen garlanding their favorite hero’s cut outs and breaking coconuts, while dancing to the Devi Sri Prasad’s tunes.

Actress Shruti Haasan, the daughter of legendary actor Kamal Haasan said she was very happy with people’s response to Gabbar Singh and thankful that she did not have to face the inevitable comparison with Sonakshi Sinha whose role she reprises in the Telugu remake of Salman Khan’s blockbuster film Dabangg.
"The reaction (to Gabbar Singh) has been very, very positive. I’m really happy. I hear people have enjoyed the film a lot," Shruti said over phone.
This will be Shruti’s first major hit film. "Every actor wants a hit, but I wasn’t going looking for one. To me, every film I do is special. Every film tests me," Shruti, who hasn’t had a major hit before Gabbar Singh, said.
"It was such a pleasant surprise, not being compared to Sonakshi," she said. Shruti reprises Sonakshi’s role of the fiercely independent village belle in Gabbar Singh. Shruti plays Bhagyalakshmi in the film. In an earlier interview, before the release of the film, she said she was playing a village girl but the filmmaker had made changes to her role to suit the nativity.
"There are also modifications in terms of role and content. It has been very exciting for me. This is completely different from all the characters I’ve been playing in Tamil and Telugu," she said. "This is a girl who thinks "I know how to do my stuff, I will take care of myself", she is very much like that.
Fortunately so far all the female characters I played definitely have a mind of their own. Be it from Seventh Sense or Dil Toh Bachha Hai Ji’, somehow there is a common trait in the characters which I get which is well defined. They did have chutzpah, which is interesting."
Her father, who is out of the country filming Viswaroopam, hasn’t yet seen the film but is happy with the response as well. "This doesn’t change anything for me, I will keep on focusing on good films, as I have in past, in every film I acted in," she said.

It's just in Andhra Pradesh that Pawan Kalyan, Shruti Haasan starrer Gabbar Singh is doing phenomenal business. We have received reports from places like USA and even Tamil Nadu that Gabbar Singh is doing extremely well at box office. Taran Adarsh, a prominent trade analyst based in Mumbai, has stated that Gabbar Singh has done better business than most other recent Bollywood releases in the US, despite releasing in less than 1/3 of the screens. Revealing the collections, Taran Adarsh tweeted, " USA: #GabbarSingh [Telugu] Thu $ 157,349, Fri $ 204,897, Sat $ 214,844 [some sites unreported]. Total: $ 577,090. Superb!" According to his estimates, the total figure could be even higher since some sites have not reported their collections. Sources say that this is the first time since Dookudu that a Telugu film is doing such roaring business in the US. Elsewhere in Tamil Nadu, Gabbar Singh released in around 25 screens, but that doesn't seem to have stopped the film from setting the cash registers ringing. Sreedhar Pillai, who tracks box office reports, tweeted, "Gabbar Singh Extraordinary opening 4 a Telugu film in Chennai city, the best in 2012. Gabbar Singh is turning out 2 b a blockbuster in 25 screens in TN. Some multiplexes r playing it in the bigger screen on day 2!" The film is running all over the world with a blockbuster talk and it's just the third day of its run. We'll have to wait and see how many more records it is going to shatter in its final run.

Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh gets huge opening at Box Office
Pawan Kalyan's most-awaited movie Gabbar Singh, which has hit the screens yesterday, has opened to a tremendous response at the Box Office. According to Tollywood trade reports, the romantic-action flick, which also stars Shruti Hassan in the female lead, has raked in approximately Rs 14 to 15 crore at the collection centres across the globe on the first day.
The film Gabbar Singh has released in more than 2,500 centres around the world. It is being screened at 235 theatres in Nizam. It has registered 80 to 100% occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes across the country. The B and C centres were running houseful in Andhra Pradesh on the first day. Power Star Pawan Kalyan?s ?Gabbar Singh? has completed all censor formalities and the movie has been awarded a U/A certificate. The road is now all clear for a massive and grand release on the 11th. This information was just conveyed to us by producer Ganesh Babu. We are awaiting more details regarding the cuts recommended.
The movie is riding high on incredible expectations and the film has been directed by Harish Shankar.

Earlier Today TDP slashed at saying , Comedian turned producer Bandla Ganesh produced films like Anjaneyulu, Teen Maarand the latest project Gabbar Singh. At present he is facing allegations from the TDP stating that he is a Binami of Botsa Satyanarayana. Doubts are being raised about the earnings, which are being invested in movies by Bandla Ganesh.
Both Bandla Ganesh and PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana reacted to these allegations. Talking to media, Bandla Ganesh said that he earned money through real estate business honestly and that money itself he is investing in movies. He alsostated that personally he adores Botsa Satyanarayana and is Botsa?s follower.
Botsa too stated that Bandla Ganesh is not an anti social element and he is their family friend. He mentioned that there are no political connections between him and Ganesh, but they are just friends.
After looking the at the reactions from both Ganesh and Botsa, observers say that they both are right. Ganesh earned hundreds of crores being a binami of Botsa in real estate business and as Botsa said, Ganesh is not an anti social element as he is just a binami of Botsa. Observers also say that it looks like a kind of publicity strategy for Ganesh?s upcoming film Gabbar Singh.

Gabbar Singh to Recensor with first copy
Pawan Kalyan?s Gabbar Singh movie recensor on 8th may, due to technical difficulties.
First film copy of this movie was not yet ready, as planned for today.
Though, producer ganesh babu showed digital copy on sunday itself, censor board members raised technical issue to award the certificate and wanted to see film copy and then only give certificate.
Ganesh is still trying to release the movie on 11th may itself and has two days to dispatch abroad prints first.
All efforts are being made for premiere shows on 10th night in USA and kuwait.

Pawan Kalyan, Trivikram film rolls from August
It is evident that Power Star Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram Srinivas are joining together for a new film after their musical blockbuster Jalsa.
Now, Trivikram, who is busy shaping up his next film Julaayi featuring Allu Arjun and Ileana in the leads, is simultaneously allocating his busy time for the script work of his next with Power Star.
The regular shoot of this yet-to-be titled film will begin from August 2012, and BVSN Prasad will produce the film on Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra Pvt Ltd banner. Ileana is under consideration for the leading lady role though she hasn?t been finalized yet.

Much hyped pics of this slender aunty from Bollywood have at last released and here goes the first talk of them. We are talking about Malaika Arora, the original 'Dabangg' item girl who is shaking her leg with Powerstar in 'Gabbar Singh'.
Apparently, posters released by the makers of Gabbar Singh are featuring some of the pics of Malaika in those hot village-lad costumes. However, they failed to raise any heat among the oomph lovers. While heroine Shruti Hassan is looking yummy in some of the posters, 'Kevvu-Keka' aunty failed miserably, says a critic. The reason behind this is said to be none other than Powerstar Pawan Kalyan.
Obviously, Pawan is looking mass and attractive in his countryside police costumes and is giving no chance for others to shine. They say that no heroine's oomph factor or no other actor's charisma can match the glow and glory of Powerstar. Even if Malaika aunty fails to click, there is no problem in drawing crowds to theatres, perhaps. It is Pawan's show always!
Raviteja's headaches for Pawan Kalyan
Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh is slated for release on next Friday. Following the latest trend, this film is going to release in highest number of theaters in Pawan's career. Gabbar Singh is surrounded by huge expectations and too much hype. Buyers have spent big bucks on it. So this film will need some space at the box office to recover the investment.
Unfortunately, Gabbar Singh is not going to enjoy that free time like Racha or Dammu did. Racha had three weeks of time before Dammu hit the teaters. Dammu is also having the coast clear until two weeks. But Gabbar Singh is going to face immediate competition from Raviteja's Daruvu, which is also a mass entertainer like the former.
Both the films target audiences are same and hence Gabbar Singh will have to be pretty impressive to counter the competition and stay on top in the second week too. There will be one notable release per week from now on. So, Gabbar Singh is not going to be benefitted by the external factors like having no competition. It would have to do well on its merits. Gabbar Singh Movie Censor Today
Power Star Pawan Kalyan's upcoming movie Gabbar Singh would undergo censor scrutiny on May 5, says the buzz. Producer Ganesh Babu has applied for two slots for the movie's censor on May 4 and May 5 in the censor board and depending upon the completion of film's first copy, Gabbar Singh will undergo censor formalities on either May 4 or 5. The shooting of the film has been completed and currently the post production is in full swing. The movie is expected to release in the second week of May. YS Jagan to produce Pawan Kalyan?s film
Pawan Kalyan has enthusiastically agreed to act in the movie ?Prince of Peace? in 2010 and even has visited israel to scout the locations.
This movie was supposed to be directed by Singeetham Srinivas Rao and produced by konda krishnamraju and release in 4 indian languages was planned.
Famous production designer Stefano Maria Ortolani from hollywood was called upon to handle this project.
It was story on Jesus Christ and pawan was supposed to play a director?s role, who makes a movie on jesus christ.
Anushka was selected to play an important role.
But later, looking at budget constraints, producer decided to drop the project and pawan too got busy with other movies.
Now, latest buzz is that YSR Congress party head, Y.S.Jaganmohan Reddy came to know about this project and has shown interest in reviving it.
Y.S.Jagan being a christian, wanted to fund this movie and is trying to get a nod from pawan kalyan to restart this project.
But right now pawan is busy till end of this year and it may be difficult for him to allot dates and finish this movie before 2014 elections.

One Overseas buyer is claiming Rs.91lakhs recovery, one distributor from Ceded is claiming Rs.35lakhs and one Exhibitor from Machilipatnam have complained for Rs.5lakhs recovery. Pawan Kalyan is blindly following him
If the buzz is to be believed then Power star Pawan Kalyan fans are in for a special treat from their matinee idol with Gabbar Singh. This film is going to be an unlimited festival meal for his fans. Director Harish Shankar who is an ardent fan of Pawan Kalyan made sure to have every element that Pawan fans would love to watch.
Harish asked for freehand from Pawan Kalyan before signing the film it seems. He asked Pawan to do whatever he asks for without rejecting anything. Pawan agreed to do so and to keep his word Pawan is simply doing everything that Harish Shankar asks for. Pawan Kalyan is against doing dances in songs. He doesn't dance in more than one song per film.

It is known that South Indian great director Shankar has recently announced his next project, which is a bilingual movie made in both Telugu and Tamil languages. Now the strong buzz is that, director Shankar is planning the sequel for ?Oke Okkadu? which will be titled as ?Manalo Okkadu? in Telugu. Pawan Kalyan would play the lead in Telugu version of this film, while Surya would play lead in Tamil version.

While Trisha was dry, Karthika further damaged the chemistry of both with Tarak. Definitely, heroines should have been much better for ?Dammu.?

The producers of Mahesh?s film did approach me, but the dates that they were expecting from me were not matching with the dates I had. I was actually looking forward to working with Mahesh. I loved him in ?Pokiri?. Unfortunately, our first film together did not work out. And then Pawan?s movie came along and the dates they asked for matched my schedule. I guess this happens very often with actresses who are doing three or four films at a time. The work schedule gets cramped. I might have lost Mahesh?s film, but I am confident I will get to work with him again. Right now I am happy to work with Pawan and Puri sir. This is the first time I am working with them. I am also working with Lawrence and Prabhas for the first time in ?Rebel? apart from doing a film with Ram and Karunakaran sir in ?Endukante Premanta?.

Producers are submitting the application on Monday and the R.O. may see the film anytime in the next week. This film is expected to hit the public screens on 11th of May. Soon as the Censor formalities are completed the release date advertisement will come into Print Media and electronic media. At present the songs of the film are being canned in Switzerland.
